QCA co-chair, Jennifer Tyburcy, was awarded the 29th Annual Lambda Literary Award for LGBT Studies for her book Sex Museums: The Politics and Performance of Display, published by the University of Chicago Press. The book examines how categories of sexual normalcy and perversity are formed—and asks what role museums have played in using display as a technique for disciplining sexuality.  The award ceremony (a.k.a. “The Lammys”) was hosted by Justin Vivian Bond at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on Monday, June 12th, 2017.  Jennifer Tyburczy is Associate Professor of Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
